About

Andrew Cookson, photographer

Andrew Cookson was born in 1978 and hails from Lancashire, UK. He is now a well-established Mancunian having resided, studied and worked in the city for the past 17 years.

His passion for photography initially developed as a teenager through taking, developing and printing black and white promotional pictures for local bands on borrowed cameras and second-hand equipment. He has an organic style and an inventive approach to work.

Growing up alongside Manchester's rapid regeneration following the bombing of the city in 1996, his photographic work specialises in architecture and portrait studies. This work focuses on a city in rebirth and the characters behind it.

Andrew regularly provides images for clients in the music and publishing industries with strong links to the region including City Life Magazine, The Observer, Rodge Glass, The Sapphire String Quartet, Royal Northern College of Music groups and many local bands.

Based in Chorlton, Andrew is available for photography projects. Please send messages and enquiries via the contact page.
